The main objectives of this ESL lesson on ‘there is’ and ‘there are’

• describe one’s workspace and learn relevant vocabulary;
• watch and discuss short videos about peoples’ workspaces;
• practise using ‘there is’ and ‘there are’ structures, choosing prepositions, and forming questions.

This lesson uses ‘there is’ and ‘there are’ exercises to help students describe their workspace! They discuss their own workspaces and ask about their partner’s while using structures ‘there is’ and ‘there are’.  Students learn vocabulary for common workspace items (e.g. headphones, a charger). They do question formation and work with prepositions ‘on’, ‘in’’, and ‘next to’. They also watch some short videos on different workspaces.
